“Dress purple Day” breaks the silence around child abuse

October is Child Abuse Prevention Month.

On “Dress Purple Day,” Tuesday, October 24, students and staff are encouraged to wear purple to collectively speak up and share the message that child abuse and neglect can be prevented. On Dress Purple Day, purple is worn to remind everybody that all children need to be safe and that the “village” needs to work together to look after children.

The hashtag for Child Abuse Prevention Month is #SpeakUp4Kids.

The hashtag for Dress Purple Day is #iBREAKthesilence and #JEBRISElesilence.
