Teacher-Librarian Edy Graziani joined Annette Hamm on CHCH Morning Live to share her list of suggested summer reads for children and teens.
Graziani, who is the teacher-librarian at Immaculate Heart of Mary, St. Lawrence and St. Ann (Hamilton) Catholic Elementary Schools, is an expert on the topic, having authored five novels.
While everyone is looking forward to some summer down time, she says it’s important for young people to keep reading.
“We want to avoid the dreaded summer slide. If kids don’t pick up a book for two months, chances are that they’re going to lose all the great skills that they learned throughout the school year.”
To counter that, Graziani recommended a number of books “that are light and breezy and fun to read for both kids and teens.”
